President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) began his official agenda in Indonesia early this Thursday (23), where he was received with military honors by President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace, in Jakarta.
The ceremony took place at 10 am local time (midnight in Brasília) and marked the beginning of a series of bilateral commitments focused on trade, the environment and diplomatic cooperation.
e focuses on expanding trade, strengthening partnerships and deepening ties with Southeast Asian countries.
During the reception, Lula stated that it was “a great joy” to return to the country after 17 years and highlighted that Brazil has maintained a “strategic partnership with Indonesia since 2008”, which should be renewed with this trip.
Prabowo, in turn, praised the Brazilian president’s political trajectory and said he had “good expectations” for the strengthening of bilateral relations.
In X, Lula published images of his arrival at the Merdeka Palace and highlighted that Brazil and Indonesia have expanded cooperation in areas such as agriculture, bioenergy, defense and sustainable development.
