It was not this time that the Brazilian won a medal in world championships. In the beam final of the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, in Jakarta, this Saturday (25), the gymnast scored 13,900 points and was left off the podium, in fourth place. The gold went to China’s Zhang Qingying (15,166), followed by Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour (14,300) and Japan’s Aiko Sugihara (14,166).
First to introduce herself, Flávia showed control over the device. The Brazilian performed a solid series, without falls or major fluctuations, securing the exit and guaranteeing a score above that achieved in the qualifying phase. Flávia remained in third place until the last performance, when Zhang Qingying dominated the race and changed the positions of the finalists.
The Chinese confirmed her favoritism with a series of high difficulty and excellent execution, totaling 15,166. Kaylia Nemour, from Algeria, made a precise presentation and Aiko Sugihara, from, completed the podium by presenting a clean and spiked series
The final was marked by high-level performances, with only one fall during the executions, by the Romanian Sabrina Maneca-Voinea. North American Dulcy Caylor also had problems, slipping off the post and ending up losing important points.
