This Thursday would be the day of meeting between the Ministry of Health and the union that represents the Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians – but the meeting was postponed.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the union explains that it was the Office of the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, who canceled the meeting. And only canceled on the same dayon Thursday.
The Government had a reason: the two days of national mourning due to . Therefore, there was a “need to reorganize the institutional agenda”; The new date will be communicated between Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
But Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians “require the immediate rescheduling” of the meeting, that is, it should take place next week. If this does not happen, and if the Government presents effective proposals, “the struggle will be inevitable.”
Professionals no longer accept postponements in a negotiation process that “has been dragging on for months and continues without concrete proposals”.
“The Ministry of Health must understand that the patience of professionals is running out. Senior Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians have waited responsibly, but will no longer accept promises without results. The commitment made in July must be fulfilled”, says Luís Dupont, president of STSS.
The meeting between the Government and the union would serve to discuss the review of the salary table, the regularization of retroactive pay differences due, and proposals to “correct injustices”, such as the reversal of “unfairly created” remuneration positions.
