Federal deputy Felipe Francischini, who became senator in September, confirmed that he will take control of Podemos in April, when the party window will allow him to leave the party without risk of losing his mandate.
In practice, however, the parliamentarian has already started work on the new acronym and formally placed his own mother, Luciane Bonatto, as party president.
In an interview with Sheethe admits that his mother has no political or party experience.
The parliamentarian’s father, Fernando Francischini, the first, did something similar in the government of Paraná. As, Fernando left one in management (PSD) and replaced his mother, Tania Marcia Francischini, Felipe’s grandmother.
In light of the changes, the former senator and former governor of Paraná Alvaro Dias, one of the founders of Podemos at the national level, announced this Thursday (23) his departure from the party. In 2018, he ran for president of the Republic under Podemos.
“Just over eight years ago, alongside political activists, I dreamed of building an alternative party that could restore Brazilians’ belief in the party institution. Today, I confess! My dreams were buried, swallowed by the force of a nefarious system that insists on surviving. I can’t agree with that,” he wrote on a social network.
HAS Sheet Alvaro stated that he does not know which party he will join and did not say whether he has electoral intentions in 2026. “I will give it time,” he said.
“Party cannot be private property, with franchises in the states, with the party and electoral fund as capital”, he continued, without mentioning names. In addition to Alvaro, state deputy Denian Couto also announced his departure from Podemos, which nationally is led by federal deputy Renata Abreu (SP).
When questioned, Felipe Francischini stated that the movements are natural. “I respect Alvaro Dias’ story, but I see that he was already away from politics since he lost the last election,” said the deputy. In 2022, Alvaro sought re-election to the Senate, but came in third place.
According to Felipe, the party’s objective is to elect at least three federal deputies to the Paraná bench in 2026, including himself, who will seek re-election. “I will now begin restructuring Podemos and we will announce the names at a membership event in December,” he said.
Regarding the government of Paraná, Felipe confirmed that Podemos will be in Ratinho Jr.’s group, which has a . Among them, former state deputy Guto Silva, now secretary of Ratinho Jr.; the former mayor of Curitiba Rafael Greca; and the president of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná, Alexandre Curi.
The main opponent of the PSD group is senator Sergio Moro, who in the Genial/Quaest survey released on August 21 appears comfortably ahead of his opponents, with 38% of voting intentions.
