President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said that there is no reason for disagreement with the USA during the meeting with American leader Donald Trump this Sunday (26).
Lula said he had a “long agenda” to be discussed with Trump, adding that he was optimistic about the possibility of Brazil and the USA moving forward in maintaining the “most civilized relationship possible”.
The leaders meet this Sunday (26), in Kuala Lumpur, at Malaysia amid expectations of a diplomatic breakthrough capable of reducing trade barriers imposed on Brazil at a time when both countries are experiencing their biggest diplomatic crisis in 200 years of bilateral relationship.
At the meeting, Trump said that the countries must reach a positive agreement for both sides.
This was the first scheduled face-to-face meeting between the two presidents and lasted around 50 minutes.
