According to investigations, the suspect used real invoices, but with false information, to avoid paying taxes. In one of the cases investigated, he declared the transport of cattle from Guajará (AM) to Lábrea (AM), when, in reality, the animals were leaving properties located in Acre. The scheme was discovered after checks carried out by inspection bodies.
Delegate Igor Brito, responsible for the investigation, explained that joint work between the institutions was essential to identify the fraud. “The person being investigated used apparently regular documents to hide the true origin of the cattle and avoid paying taxes. The Civil Police will continue to act rigorously against this type of crime”, he stated.
The man was arrested in the act and will face charges of false identity and tax evasion. The Civil Police continues to investigate the case to find out if there are others involved and the extent of the damage caused to public coffers.
