Instead of using the sink, I water a dying palm tree. It acts as a steroid on plant growth
Palm trees in pots are one of the biggest trends in recent years in Polish homes. Thanks to them, the interiors gain a Mediterranean atmosphere and even in winter they make us feel like we are on a paradise beach. What’s more, a palm tree in a pot is not only a spectacular decoration of the room, but is also easy to care for. It doesn’t need much to grow and can tolerate even difficult conditions. However, it also happens that despite our efforts, the palm tree deteriorates and its leaves turn yellow or brown. What should we do to save our plant? First of all, let’s rule out that it wasn’t attacked by any disease or pests (e.g. groundworms). The second extremely important issue is providing this exotic plant with nutrients. In this case, let’s use palm fertilizer, preferably homemade. I use cooled water after cooking potatoes. The only thing you need to remember is not to salt the water, because salt may harm the plants. Potato water is a valuable source of potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron for potted palms. Thanks to them, the palm tree will grow like crazy.
Homemade palm fertilizer. How to save a plant?
In addition to the homemade one described above, the one obtained from banana peels will be equally effective. You can safely water your palm tree with banana peel nutrient every two or three weeks. How to prepare this homemade palm tree conditioner from banana peels? Just cut the fresh fruit peel, place it in a liter jar and pour hot water over it. After 2 days, dilute the solution with water in a 1:1 ratio and water the palm tree with it.
