“Śleboda” is the first Polish production of the SkyShowtime platform. The crime story, set in Podhale, is based on the novel by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński. The production debuted on the network in December 2024 and became one of the most popular SkyShowtime series in the country. “Pawn” will be a continuation of the adventures of the main characters.
“Pawn” second season “Ślebody”
“Pionek” is the working title for now, but it is already known that anthropologist Anka Serafin (Marta Dębksa) and journalist Sebastian Strzygoń (Maciej Musiał) will appear again in the series. While the first part takes place in Podhale and delighted fans with beautiful photos of the Tatra Mountains, this time the action of the series will move to Upper Silesia. The script, similarly to the first part, will be based on the second part of the popular series of ethno-crime stories by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński published under the same title. The same duo will also be responsible for directing – Michał Gazda and Bartosz Blaschke. The authors of the script are Karolina Frankowska and Katarzyna Golenia. The director of photography, which is scheduled to start later this year, will be Maciej Lisiecki.
– After the success of our first SkyShowtime original series Śleboda, we are delighted to continue the story of Anka Serafin and Sebastian Strzygoń in the new production Pionek – another gripping part of the acclaimed crime series by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński. Pionek, SkyShowtime’s first Polish sequel, opens an exciting new phase in the development of Polish productions for our service and confirms our commitment to working with talented creators to deliver authentic, local stories – says Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer at SkyShowtime.
