The fourth INEM helicopter arrived this Saturday at Viseu Aerodrome. To operate from the city, the company responsible for the aircraft gave up having a hangar to house the device, an issue that has been going on since 2019, when the helicopter left Santa Comba Dão for Viseu.
After several months of delay, INEM once again has a 24-hour air response across the country. The last helicopter to enter service arrived this Saturday to Viseu, but it doesn’t have a hangar. Since 2019, the municipality and INEM have not yet been able to build a structure to accommodate the aircraft.
As of this Saturday, the country has reestablished medical emergency air service.
A which won the international competition, now operates helicopters in Loulé, Évora, Viseu and Macedo de Cavaleiros, thus normalizing a service that had been failing for months.
To operate from Viseu, the Maltese company gave up having a hangar to accommodate the aircraft, a matter that has been going on since 2019, when the helicopter left Santa Comba Dão for Viseu and, since then, neither the Inem not the municipality resolved the problem.
With these new devices, INEM teams only need 5 minutes to be on air after receiving an alert.
