He is 56 years old and has been walking for more than half his life. Such is the life of Karl Bushby, who aims to travel around the world… without stopping.

There is only one rule: no public transport. Now, Karl Bushby, a 56-year-old adventurous walker, is entering the final phase of his lifelong journey: according to , the former parachutist you now have less than 3,219 km to travel before reaching your hometown, Hullnot UK.

Before re-entering Europe last year, however, the traveler, originally from Sutton Park, said he “had to take a break” from his mission — which he called the Goliath Expedition — while he waited for his visa to leave Turkey.

During his long journey, he passed through inhospitable places, but he had time to write books and give interviews. Sometimes she traveled alone. Other times accompanied. But he never stopped walking.

“On November 1, 1998, you are literally looking at a road with 36,000 miles long and you have no idea how you’re going to get it. We’ve faced a lot of visa problems, financial crises, the pandemic — we’ve had it all. It was extremely difficult, but we always remained determined and were never willing to compromise the route,” he told the BBC.

In several places he feared for his life. Shortly after starting his journey in Chile, he soon had to face ice floes and polar bears in Bering Strait or the terrible Darien jungle, one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Now, your journey is almost coming to an end. “Coming home… I don’t know, it’s strange. It’s a very unusual situation when suddenly your purpose in life comes to an abrupt end. I hope I can transition to other things as quickly as possible, keeping my mind, body and soul moving.”
