First edition of 'Chefs Week' ends with a flourish at Palácio da Ajuda

The chefs invited for the exquisite menu were Carlos Medeiros, who currently resides in Oslo, and Luís Gaspar. To close this week’s celebrations, one of the rare Portuguese bands of jazz vintage followed the meal in the Room D.Luís, where good old times were relived.

The first edition of ‘‘ arrived in Lisbon, a week dedicated to haute cuisine, with several renowned Chefs, some with Michelin Stars, signing themed menus. At the official closing, there was a themed “banquet”, at Palácio da Ajuda, in Lisbon, in a very special room.

One hundred and ten guests for a land and sea menu, this time with cod from Norway. It was the motto of this dinner at the palace, decorated to perfection, with historical recreations and interaction with guests to give more veracity to the setting and authenticity to a night that was supposed to be magical.

While the dishes were being finished in the kitchen, “unlikely” actors took on the role of characters who could well have walked down those corridors.

Seven restaurants participate during the weekend

There was no shortage of entertainment, with explanations of history, seasoned with humor and lessons “adapted” to modern times, in which Ronaldo and Georgina were some of the figures evoked with grace. And there was no shortage of palace dance classes.

This was how the first edition ended, washed down with national wines.

Seven emblematic restaurants in the city, integrated into Rota Chefs Weekstill participate in the initiative during this weekend.
