Port-au-Prince/Kingston/Washington – The USA has promised emergency aid worth three million dollars (2.6 million euros) to Cuba in view of the destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa. In cooperation with the Roman Catholic Church, humanitarian aid should be distributed directly to people in the particularly hard-hit east of the country, the US State Department announced on Sunday.
