PRR has changed, E-Lar will have more money

Program to support the replacement of gas appliances with electric alternatives sold out in 6 days.

O E-Home, Government program created to support the replacement of gas appliances with electric alternatives, on September 30th.

The program would continue, either until June of next year, or until the funds were exhausted. There was a total fund of 30 million euros – which was exhausted in just 6 days, after 40 thousand applications in less than a week.

Now, the Minister of Environment and Energy announces that E-Lar will be reinforced, there will be more money for new applications.

At , Maria da Graça Carvalho did not indicate the new total value but assured that there will be this reinforcement due to the recent PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan.

“We are going to have a reinforcement. (…) I still can’t say how much it is, but in this reorganization of the PRR we have had a reinforcement”, commented the minister.

Floods

There will be a reinforcement of 60 million euros for flood preventionannounced Maria da Graça Carvalho. This is in a country “very susceptible, very vulnerable” to this phenomenon.

The Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) has identified areas vulnerable to flooding and developed a monitoring and forecasting system to provide the alert three days in advance to Civil Protection.

Work to remove obstacles in rivers will be intensified, so that they do not overflow in cases of intense rainfall.

COP

Maria da Graça Carvalho also said that Portugal “is well prepared” for COP30the United Nations Conference on Climate Change.

The minister commented that Portugal has good indicators, but also “goals achieved” – as in renewable energy, where it remains above the average in the European Union.

The governor highlighted the financing of 344 million euros for water resiliencewith three central projects: Algarve desalination plant, Pomarão water intake and Pisão dam.
