Saudi Arabian prince visits Trump. The White House meeting will open up new political issues

Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will visit the USA for negotiations with President Trump. The main topics will be the Abraham Accords and possible defense cooperation.

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on November 18 as part of his official working visit to the United States. White House sources announced this on Monday, TASR reports, according to a Reuters report.

  • Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will visit the USA on November 18.
  • He will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House.
  • Trump is pushing Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords.

Bin Salman’s visit comes at a time when Trump is pushing Saudi Arabia to join the list of countries that have joined the so-called Abraham’s agreements, the agency reminds. In 2020, Trump made these agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco to normalize relations with Israel.

Abrahamic covenants

However, Saudi Arabia is reluctant to accede to these agreements, as steps leading to Palestinian statehood have not yet been taken.

In an interview with CBS on Sunday, Trump said he believed the Saudis would eventually join the accords.

Defense discussion

Trump and bin Salman could also discuss a defense agreement between the US and Saudi Arabia, writes Reuters. The Financial Times newspaper reported two weeks ago that there is hope to sign such an agreement between the two countries during bin Salman’s visit to the US.
