Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on November 18 as part of his official working visit to the United States. White House sources announced this on Monday, TASR reports, according to a Reuters report.
- The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia will visit the White House on November 18.
- Donald Trump discusses Abraham deals with Saudi Arabia.
- Saudi Arabia is still hesitating to join the peace accords.
- The conversation may be about a defense deal between the US and Saudi Arabia.
- Trump expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia joining the agreements.
Bin Salman’s visit comes at a time when Trump is pressuring Saudi Arabia to join the list of countries that have joined the so-called to Abraham’s covenants, reminds the agency. In 2020, Trump made these agreements with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco to normalize relations with Israel.
However, Saudi Arabia is hesitant to accede to these agreements, as steps leading to Palestinian statehood have not yet been taken. In an interview with CBS on Sunday, Trump said he believed the Saudis would eventually join the accords.
Trump and bin Salman could also discuss a US-Saudi defense deal, writes Reuters. The Financial Times reported two weeks ago that there is hope of signing such an agreement between the two countries right during bin Salman’s visit to the US.
