Scorer of the goal that paved the way for Brazil’s victory in the friendly against Senegal, this Saturday (15), by 2-0, striker Estêvão valued the team’s collective dedication in the search for triumph.
“Our delivery on the field was fundamental. Marquinhos highlighted in the dressing room that we didn’t concede a goal, which is very important. We knew how to deal with the difficulties and we managed to score two goals. This dedication, from both those who started and those who came on, was decisive for the victory”, said the Chelsea player to Sheet when leaving the stadium.
Against the Senegalese, he scored his fourth goal in ten games with the yellow shirt. After the final whistle, he also received a big hug from coach Carlo Ancelotti on the field.
“I’m very happy for this moment. It’s happiness not just for me, but for my entire family. It’s about enjoying it and thanking God,” he said.
Estêvão’s goal came in the first half. After a pass from Casemiro —who was looking for Bruno Guimarães at the edge of the area—, the ball deflected off the defense and fell to the attacker, who finished with power, with no chance for the goalkeeper. Casemiro expanded in the initial stage.
After the striker’s performance, Ancelotti praised the young man. “Estêvão has an incredible talent. It’s a surprise to be at this level at his age. He’s good at finishing, he has a lot of ‘magic’… and he works very hard,” he said. “I can say the following: with Estêvão, Brazil’s future is guaranteed,” he added.
