The shelling of the city with grenades and the targeted terror by snipers targeting civilians in the city were part of the cruel and illegal strategy of the army of the Republika Srpska during the siege of Sarajevo between 1992 and 1995. The snipers were stationed mainly in high-rise buildings on the wide main road Zmaja od Bosne. This street was therefore often called “Sniper Alley”.
