In the photo, which you can find at the end of the article and which was taken shortly after three in the morning, a Mercedes is coming in the direction of Komárno. The mentioned video was made on the tragic morning, approximately 35-45 minutes before the accident. It captures the vehicle right at the roundabout in the city center and other shots near the supermarket show the car leaving the city towards Dolný Štál.
The traffic accident occurred on Wednesday shortly before 4:00 a.m. on the first-class road between Veľký Meder and Dolný Štál in the Dunajská Streda district. The exact causes as well as the circumstances of the tragic traffic accident are under investigation. The 31-year-old driver died of her injuries after being transported to the hospital.
One of the question marks surrounding the accident is the direction of travel. According to the portal, the images confirm that she came from Komárno and had to turn around somewhere between the turn to Veľký Ďur and Dolný Štálo. According to the information published so far, about 45 minutes passed between the camera recording and the accident. As parameter.sk writes, the journey to Dolné Stál and back (about 15 km) takes about 15 minutes at night. That leaves a roughly 20-minute window, which, according to the portal, can only be explained by the fact that the car had to stop somewhere.
Police are asking the public for help
The Trnava Regional Police is asking the public for cooperation in the investigation of the tragic accident. He calls on anyone who has relevant information to contact the District Traffic Inspectorate in Dunajská Streda or the toll-free number 158 without delay. “Sharing any information, whether true or fabricated, on social networks does not help the investigation of any crime,” she clarified.
