A woman and a child are buried after properties collapsed on Avenida Presidente Castelo Brancoin the Maracanã neighborhood, north of Rio de Janeiro, in the early hours of this Monday (2).
According to CBMERJ (Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro), eight people were rescued alive and the search continues for the two people who remain buried. Firefighters were called at around 1:30 am. At least 50 soldiers have been working at the site since early in the morning.
The rescued victims were taken to the Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital. There is no confirmation about the .
COR (Rio Operations Center) reported that the two lanes towards Méier on Avenida Rei Pelé are closed at Rua Oito de Outubro.
