Waste should go on the rails, but nobody knows whether that will work

Even though emissions have recently fallen for the fourth year in a row, the transport sector remains Austria’s climate policy problem child. A third more greenhouse gases are emitted today than in 1990 – there has been a decline everywhere else. In truck traffic, the CO₂emissions have doubled since then. Here too, the numbers have been declining recently, but things are going too slowly.
