The newspaper “Gazeta Esportiva”, from the Cásper Líbero Foundation, was already an established publication when “A Gazeta Esportiva Ilustrada” was launched. The biweekly magazine brought emblematic reports on all sports. Of course, football has always occupied the majority of the more than three hundred editions.

The magazine circulated between 1953 and 1967, covering a period of four World Cups, two of which were won by the Brazilian team. The name “A Gazeta Esportiva Ilustrada” had already been used once, in 1950, in an edition about the World Cup in Brazil. Most of the time, the covers were colorful, something rare for the press at the time. Pelé, Zizinho, Pepe, Bellini, Mauro Ramos de Oliveira and many other players were highlighted in the reports.

I share with “Memória da Pan” internet users the complete, digitized collection of “A Gazeta Esportiva Ilustrada”. In addition to the normal editions, there are commemorative copies of the 1950, 1954, 1958 and 1962 World Cups. I hope you like them:
