Horto Florestal of São Paulo celebrates its 130 years – 02/10/2026 – É Logo Ali

The Alberto Löfgren State Park, better known as Horto Florestal, celebrates 130 years of existence this Tuesday (10) and the manager Urbia has organized a special program that will extend over several days of the month — the official celebration of the date will be on Sunday (22), with a focus on tradition and history, as well as free cake and popsicles for those who attend on that date and record a video telling what the park represents in their lives.

Founded by Swedish botanist Alberto Löfgren, the park has an area of 186 hectares, equivalent to 260 football fields, divided into four visiting areas: Horto Florestal, Olaria, Polo Eco Cultural and Arboreto Vila Amália. Listed as cultural heritage, it has been under the management of Urbia since 2022 and received, according to the concessionaire, investments of R$30 million in improving signage and requalifying the space’s structures.

Along with its anniversary, the park will celebrate 7 years of the Trail Girls group, which brings together women who came together to tackle nature trails in what they describe as “exercising citizenship, gender equality and female empowerment”.

Also this Tuesday, from 3pm to 4pm, a free guided educational tour will be held showing interesting facts about the history of Horto, which, by the way, is the official starting point of the Transmantiqueira trail.

On Carnival Saturday (14), from 7am to 11:30am, Forest Bathing will take place, an itinerary that will cover 12 kilometers of trails between the centers of Cantareira and Horto. And, on the 28th, the last Saturday of this month, the 31st Night Walk will be held, which from 3:45 pm to 9 pm, runs along the Horto and Pedra Grande trails, one of the park’s main attractions.

And, speaking of Carnival, it’s worth remembering that the park will be open throughout the holiday, from 5:30 am to 6 pm, offering a space of peace for those who want to escape the crowds. And anyone who wants to take part in walks along the Atlantic Forest trails must not forget to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, leave their pets at home and not feed the many local fauna or throw packaging or leftover food along the way. Sunscreen and repellents are also recommended.
