More than 35 thousand homes without electricity for two weeks

Two weeks after the storm that hit the central region, thousands of families remain without electricity at home, more than 25 thousand in Leiria alone.

Since January 28th, there have been thousands of families still without electricity, some completely in the dark, others living with the help of generators. Leiria City Council opened a help center today for those who want to start asking for support for reconstruction.

Fifteen people have died in Portugal since January 28 following the passage of depressions Kristin, Leonardo and Marta, which also caused many hundreds of injuries and displacement.

The total or partial destruction of homes, businesses and equipment, the fall of trees and structures, the closure of roads, schools and transport services, and the cut of energy, water and communications, floods and floods are the main material consequences of the storm.
