Crispy shrimp in breading it is an exceptionally tasty, exquisite snack. Its preparation is not complicated, although it is easy to make mistakes that will waste your efforts. To achieve the desired effect, choose good quality, large (e.g. tiger) shrimps that have already been pre-processed.
You can also use fresh ones, but they are harder to find in Polish stores and their preparation requires a lot of time. Thoroughly thaw and dry the shrimp before processing. Marinate them (you can use other ingredients than in the recipe) to emphasize the flavor of the delicate meat. Fry in fresh, well-heated oil.
- 300 g of frozen, blanched shrimp,
- juice of 1 small lemon,
- 3 cloves of garlic,
- ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper,
- 1 egg,
- 150 g of wheat flour,
- 60 g panko breadcrumbs,
- salt, pepper (to taste),
- oil (for frying).
Defrost the shrimp and dry thoroughly with a paper towel.
Combine lemon juice, pressed garlic cloves and cayenne pepper in a bowl. Mix. Season to taste with salt. Coat the shrimp in the marinade and set aside for half an hour.
Beat the egg in a deep plate. Pour flour and panko onto separate plates. You can add some salt and pepper to the panko. Coat the shrimp one by one in flour, egg and panko.
Pour enough oil into a deep pan to submerge the shrimps. Heat it so much that a piece of breading added to it begins to fry intensively and floats to the surface. Put the shrimps into the heated oil one at a time to avoid them sticking together and reducing the temperature rapidly.
Fry the shrimp for a few minutes, turning occasionally. Fry until golden brown. Place the fried shrimp on a sheet of paper towel to absorb excess fat.
Serve the crispy shrimps hot, with your favorite sauces, e.g. garlic.
