The American and Israeli leaders spoke on Wednesday (11), for another three hours, about Iran and the war in Gaza
The meeting between United States President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House ended on Wednesday (11) after three hours of discussions on Iran and the war in Gaza. The Israeli leader stated that he discussed “security needs” in the country “in the context of negotiations, and the two agreed to continue their close coordination and relationship.”
The US president wrote in a post on social media that it was a “good meeting”. However, he indicated that Washington would continue to seek an agreement with Tehran.
“No definitive decision was made, I just insisted that negotiations with Iran would continue to see whether or not it was possible to reach an agreement. As long as there is a possibility, I indicated to the Prime Minister that this will be my preference”, wrote Trump on his Truth Social network, after the meeting.
The Israeli leader arrived at the White House shortly before 1 pm, Brasília time. On the eve of his meeting with Netanyahu, Trump said he was considering sending a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East to increase pressure on Tehran.
The US government resumed negotiations last week in Oman over Iran’s nuclear program, but maintains the military threat against the Islamic Republic if an agreement is not reached.
