The Federal Police asked the President of the Federal Supreme Court, Minister Edson Fachin, to declare the suspicion of Minister Dias Toffoli in reporting on the investigations involving Banco Master.
The request was formalized after the seizure of messages on the cell phone of businessman Daniel Vorcaro, controller of the financial institution, in which Toffoli’s name is mentioned. Information about the content was revealed by the portal UOL.
Fachin has already ordered Toffoli to comment on the request.

The PF’s attempt comes after the Attorney General’s Office analyzed a similar request. The attorney general, Paulo Gonet, did not proceed with the request, on the grounds that he had already removed Toffoli’s suspicion in a request previously presented by opposition parliamentarians.
Master case context
Banco Master is at the center of investigations related to alleged irregularities discovered within the scope of the operation conducted by the PF. The movement around the rapporteurship at the STF adds a new institutional chapter to the case, which was already being monitored in light of the regulatory and reputational repercussions.
The decision on whether or not Toffoli will remain in the rapporteur’s office will depend on internal developments in the Supreme Court after the minister’s statement and the eventual position of the Attorney General’s Office.
