The president of the Grêmio, Odorico Romanstated that the club could make one more signing in the current transfer window, despite considering the squad practically closed after the arrival of six reinforcements.
The statement was made during participation in the CNN Esportes S/A this Sunday (15), when commenting on the football department’s planning for the season.
During the , the president detailed the names that arrived at the club in this window and reinforced that the board sought to meet the needs highlighted by the technical committee.
“We recently brought two Argentine midfielders (Leonel) Pérez and (Juan) Nardoni. And you were talking about Weverton, Caio Paulista, Tetê and Enamorado, a Colombian that we also brought recently. These are the six players we brought”, he recalled.
According to Roman, the initial idea is to close the deal with the current squad, but the club remains attentive to specific opportunities in the market.

The leader avoided revealing the position or characteristics of the possible reinforcement and highlighted that ongoing negotiations require discretion.

Roman highlighted that the work of the technical committee is now entering a phase of consolidation of the starting team, after an initial period of observations.
According to the director, the work of the technical committee still undergoes adjustments and tests in search of the ideal formation.
“One thing is the group training, another thing is the group playing. So, he had to do tests, use players in the most varied compositions”, he stated.
According to Roman, the current moment marks a transition to a phase of greater definition for the holder.
“And now we are reaching a moment where he starts to define the starting team and improve plays, improve movements on the field”, he added.
