Revenue detects breach of confidentiality by STF ministers – 02/17/2026 – Politics

The Brazilian company reported this Tuesday (17) that deviations have already been detected in access to data from ministers of the (Supreme Federal Court) and relatives, following an audit of the systems requested by the court.

In a press release, the organization stated that such deviations had already been reported to the STF rapporteur. Folha revealed on Sunday (15) that the minister used the fake news inquiry, reported by him, to ask the IRS to investigate the possible data leak about three weeks ago.

“Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service does not tolerate deviations, especially those related to fiscal secrecy, a basic pillar of the tax system,” he added.

According to the agency, the audit involves dozens of systems and taxpayers and is still ongoing. The Revenue says that the systems are “fully traceable, so that any deviation is detectable, auditable and punishable, including in the criminal sphere” and that since 2003 seven disciplinary processes have been concluded, with three dismissals and sanctions.

This Tuesday (17), in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, as part of an additional investigation investigating possible data leaks from the Federal Revenue Service involving STF ministers and family members.

The action took place as determined by the STF, based on a representation made by the (Attorney General’s Office). So far, the names of the targets of the operation have not been released.

The court also ordered the application of precautionary measures, including monitoring by electronic ankle bracelet, removal from public service, cancellation of passports and ban on leaving the country.
