Tiago Tomás experienced one of the most exciting moments of his career when he scored in VfB Stuttgart’s game against Celtic FC, in the Europa League, a match that ended in an impressive 4-1 victory for the German team.
During the goal celebrations, the Portuguese striker was unable to contain his tears, in a moment of strong emotional charge that quickly caught the attention of fans and cameras. Shortly afterwards, in the quick interview, he explained the reason for the emotion, revealing that the beginning of the year was marked by the death of his father.
Tiago Tomás shared that this has been the most difficult period of his life and the life of his family, admitting the deep pain of loss. Visibly moved, he stated that his father was the biggest inspiration in his career, both as a player and as a person, and that he feels that he would be proud of the moment he is living.
The striker also highlighted that the family tries to keep his father’s memory alive at all times, carrying him symbolically in their hearts, despite his absence and the constant longing they have felt since his death.
