PT member says he sees no problem with Pacheco joining the Union – 02/21/2026 – Panel

One of the main PT leaders in Minas Gerais, federal deputy Reginaldo Lopes says that there is no opposition within the party to support the senator (MG) for the state government, even if he joins União Brasil, a center-right party.

“There’s no problem for Pacheco to join União Brasil or another party. As long as he supports Lula, that’s what matters.” The biggest problem, according to him, is within the Union itself, a party that at the end of last year broke with the government and handed over its positions.

After being reluctant for months to enter the Minas Gerais electoral race, Pacheco has recently shown signs that he would accept the venture.

The idea is for him to give Lula a platform in the second most populous state in the country. The senator, currently in , is also considering joining the MDB, which, however, presented the candidacy of Gabriel Azevedo, former president of the City Council of .
