Marçal, who ran for Mayor of São Paulo in 2024, but the Union believes it is possible to reverse the decision and make him run with an injunction.
The party’s intention is for Marçal to double for the Senate with Guilherme Derrite (PP). The two parties form a federation.
The agreement would have to have the consent of governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), however, who has resistance to Marçal’s name that comes precisely due to the municipal race.
An alternative would be to launch Marçal as a separate name for one of the Senate vacancies.
