Prime Minister had already said that he wanted to involve António José Seguro and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in the Transformation, Recovery and Resilience Program.
The elected President of the Republic, Antonio José Seguroand the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, met this Tuesday for the first time after the presidential elections, at the National Palace of Queluz, for more than two and a half hours.
Luís Montenegro arrived at the Queluz National Palace, in the municipality of Sintra, district of Lisbon, shortly before midnight. 16:00 and left through 18:40, without making statements to journalists upon arrival or departure.
At the end of the meeting, António José Seguro accompanied the head of the PSD/CDS-PP Government to the door, but without leaving the palace where he has a work office until he takes office as head of state, on March 9.
According to a note released by the President-elect’s communications office on Monday, today’s meeting was intended to formal presentation of compliments by the Prime Minister and also by the Portugal Transformation, Recovery and Resilience program ().
It adds that the Prime Minister presented to the detail the program, together with the future president of the Republic.
The PTRR is a support program for people affected by bad weather, it is the Government’s response to the recent sequence of storms. No details were disclosed by the Prime Minister, who in the fortnightly debate only said: it will be the creation of a “fund that can be available to respond to calamity situations”.
The Prime Minister said, at the same time, that expected collaboration of the still President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, and his successor, Antonio José Safe, in the creation of this PTRR fund.
