A 50-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman died in Drienovská Nová Ves in an accident involving a passenger train and a passenger car at a railroad crossing secured by a light signaling device without barriers. As the Prešov Regional Police informs on the social network, the tragic collision occurred on Wednesday shortly before 4:00 p.m.
„The train driver submitted to a breathalyzer test with a negative result. The circumstances and the exact cause of this tragic accident are currently under investigation, therefore it is not possible to provide more detailed information,” reports the police. All emergency services are responding at the scene. The police are documenting the event. “We ask drivers to be more careful in the given section and to respect the instructions of the emergency services,” adds the police.
