Singer Ivete Sangalo was admitted this Wednesday morning, the 25th, to Hospital Aliança, in Salvador. The singer passed out at home and suffered two cuts to her face. In a video published earlier this afternoon on her social media profiles, she explained what probably caused the fall: “Tonight I had very intense diarrhea, probably a virus that I caught, a very bad headache, I spent the night going to the bathroom.”
The singer claims that, when she went to the bathroom again around 7am, she passed out, due to the dehydration she suffered. “I fell to the ground hard,” said the singer, showing the cuts on her face, one near her eye and another on her forehead. Ivete tried to reassure fans and friends. “I want to assure you that I am well cared for, treated by very competent doctors and grateful for their care and concern. I can assure you that you are fine,” Ivete concluded: “I’m going to be wonderful.”
One of the stars of Salvador’s carnival, Ivete comes from a marathon of parades in its street blocks. In pre-carnival she brought her trio to São Paulo for the first time.
