O animal game banker from Rio de Janeiro, Adilson Oliveira Coutinho Filho, Adilsinhowas arrested this Thursday (26) by agents from the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime of the Federal Police (Ficco/RJ) and the state Civil Police (PCERJ). The action also had the support of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF).
In addition to being part of the Rio de Janeiro animal game leadership, Adilsinho is considered the largest producer and distributor of counterfeit cigarettes in the stateand was on the run from the Federal Court and was wanted by the State Court.
O bicheiro is also identified as the mastermind of murders. The Civil Police reported, in a note, that criminal activity with cigarettes “is linked to armed organizations and with transnational operations, marked by the imposition of violence and territorial domination”.
According to the Civil Police, the arrest of the bicheiro at his home in Cabo Frio, in the Lagos Region, was possible “after in-depth intelligence, data analysis and monitoring work, developed within the scope of Ficco/RJ, which had the support of the Aeropolicial Service, ensuring safety and efficiency in executing the warrant”.
“The action aims to dismantle an armed and transnational criminal organization, specialized in the illegal trade of cigarettes through the control of regions and the imposition of violence and fear,” added the PF.
Rio de Janeiro’s State Secretary of Civil Police, Felipe Curi, assessed that the arrest demonstrates the strength of integrated work and police intelligence.
“This arrest shows that intelligence and integration give results. The Civil Police, within Ficco, acts in a surgical way to reach the top of criminal organizations, weaken the economic power of crime and protect the population. Rio de Janeiro will not be a safe territory for organized crime”, said the secretary in the note released by PCERJ.
O bicheiro was taken to the PF Regional Superintendence in Rio de Janeiro“for formalities arising from the arrest and, subsequently, will be sent to the state prison system”.
Ficco/RJ is a permanent task force that brings together the Civil Police and the Federal Police, focusing on dismantling structured criminal organizations, through integrated intelligence and qualified repression actions.
