Judge Pedro Fernandes Alonso Alves Pereira, from the TJMG (Court of Justice of Minas Gerais), decided to release digital influencer Ronnie Peterson da Silva, arrested in 2025, after being accused of extorting municipal authorities in Santa Luzia (MG).
after being accused of demanding R$100,000 from the mayor, deputy and municipal secretaries to not publish defamatory content on social media.
Politicians did not give in to blackmail and say that the influencer started publishing posts against the victims.
In this Tuesday’s decision (24), the judge understood that Ronnie no longer poses a risk to public order nor does he have any more power to interfere in the production of evidence. Furthermore, he stated that maintaining the prison could constitute “an illegal constraint due to excessive time”.
The magistrate decided to impose precautionary measures on the accused. The influencer will not be able to leave the city where he lives and is prohibited from having contact with the victims of the process.
He must also maintain a minimum distance of 500 meters from the victims and is prohibited from making any type of mention of those involved in the process, including on social media.
