A Commission for National Integration and Regional Development and Chamber of Deputies approved on Wednesday (26) a bill that obliges municipalities to create operation centers to deal with emergency situations and disasters.
According to the proposal, the new structures will be implemented with state support and in accordance with the of each location.
The original text for Bill 3306/24 is from the deputy Julio Lopes (PP-RJ)but was changed by the rapporteur, Benes Leocádio (União-RN).
The original proposal made the structure mandatory for all municipalities, however the rapporteur argued that the creation of cannot be treated equally among the more than 5,000 municipalities in the country.
“I propose that the installation and maintenance of operation centers be carried out with the support of the states and guided according to the level of risk in each municipality. It is not appropriate to assume that everyone has the same ”, explained the deputy rapporteur of the project.
Now, the text will be conclusively analyzed by the Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Commission. If approved, the project will be forwarded to the Senate.
