Authorities in Dubai reported that debris from an Iranian drone caused a fire at the iconic Burj al-Arab hotel. At the same time, they said that the flames are under control and no one was injured. “Minor damage was reported at the Dubai International terminal in an incident that was quickly brought under control,” the airport said in a statement, adding: “Thanks to the emergency plans already in place, most of the terminals were previously evacuated.”
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said that most of the 137 missiles and 209 drones fired at their territory by Iran were destroyed or shot down, the Defense Ministry announced on Sunday, after Tehran opened fire on Gulf states following an attack by the US and Israel.
“The Ministry informed that it is on a high level of alertness and readiness to deal with any threats, and that it is taking the necessary measures, to resist anything aimed at undermining the security and stability of the country and affirm that the safety of citizens, residents and visitors is the highest priority,” the ministry said in a statement posted on the X social network.
