The suspect was identified as Ndiaga Diagne, an American citizen of Senegalese origin.
The suspect in the early hours of this Sunday (1st) in AustinTexas, had expressed “sentiments in favor of the Iranian regime” on social media, SITE Intelligence Group reported this Sunday.
The organization, which monitors jihadist groups, identified the attacker, killed by police, as Ndiaga Diagne, American citizen of Senegalese origin.
“It is still too early to determine an exact motivation, but there is evidence about the individual and his vehicle that points to a potential nexus with terrorism,” said FBI special agent Alex Doran earlier.
“For now, we are only in a position to say that it was potentially an act of terrorism“, Doran told reporters.
