An explosion opened a crater on Rua da Consolação, in the center of São Paulo, on Sunday night (1st), near Avenida Paulista.

According to the concessionaire’s note, the The origin of these gases has not yet been identified. Company technicians worked to support the recovery of and the reconstruction services were completed this Tuesday morning. Traffic on Rua da Consolação was reopened at around 6:20 am.

After measurements carried out on site, which indicated that there were no risks, the hole was closed and properly covered. The distributor also clarified that the underground electrical network was not damaged by the explosion. According to the company, there are only power cables at the site, without equipment such as transformers.
