Netanyahu: I did not drag Trump into war

The war will not be endless, Israel’s prime minister has assured Americans, as the United States and Israel continue attacks against the Iranian regime. He also clarified that he did not drag him into the Iran war as the US president is a decisive leader.

“You’re not going to have an endless war,” Netanyahu told Fox News’ Sean Hannity in an exclusive interview. “This terrorist regime in Iran is at its weakest point since it usurped Iran from the brave Iranian people 47 years ago. So this is a quick and decisive action. And first we will create the conditions for the Iranian people to take control of their own destiny, to form their own democratically elected government, which will create a completely different one.’

Netanyahu argued that the destruction of the Iranian regime with other Muslim countries in the region would “change the world”.

“If we proceed as we plan, I think we will create conditions for peace,” the prime minister said. “This is not an endless war. On the contrary, it is something that will usher in an era of peace that we have not even imagined.”

Netanyahu specifically referred to Saudi Arabia, seeing the country as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the fall of the Iranian regime, and said that peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel would be “very close” as a result.

“So this is a gateway to peace, to wider peace. And I believe we can achieve it,” Netanyahu continued. “The most important thing to understand is that when we work together, President Trump and I have achieved, in fact, four peace achievements. President Trump mediated working with me, we brought the Abraham Accords, which were four peace agreements with four Arab countries. And now, by working together against Iran, we will be able to bring about many, many more peace agreements. So this is not an endless war. It is a gateway to peace. Exactly the opposite of what some say.”

“Trump was not dragged into war”

Netanyahu laughed off the “ridiculous” charge that Trump’s critics claim the president was lured into war with Iran by Israel.

“Donald Trump is the most powerful leader in the world,” he said. “He’s doing what he thinks is right for America. He is also doing what he thinks is right for future generations… Iran is committed to your destruction. And whether people understand it or not, the leader must understand it. Donald Trump understands this. You don’t need to drag him into anything. He does what he thinks is right, and that is right. He reinforced the major military action taken by his country and the US with “Operation Epic Fury”.

“After we hit their nuclear sites and their ballistic missile program, you’d think they would have learned a lesson, but they haven’t, because they’re unreformed. They are absolutely fanatical about this, the goal of destroying America. So they started building new sites and underground shelters that would make their ballistic missile program and their nuclear program resilient within months,” he said.

“If measures were not taken now, they could not be taken in the future,” Netanyahu continued. “And then they could target America. They could blackmail America. They could threaten us and everyone among us. So, we had to act. And it took a determined president like Donald J. Trump to make this decision.”
