Families from the Porto Luiz settlement, located in the municipality of , now have new resources and greater legal security to develop rural production. On February 27th, (Incra) formalized the signing of Use Concession Contracts (CCU) and 86 Installation Credit contracts, a measure that represents an investment of close to R$1 million in family farming in the region.

The credit contracts were granted in the Initial Support and Fomento Mulher modalities, guaranteeing the transfer of R$8,000 to each family unit. The resources must be used to structure productive activities and improve the working conditions of families in the countryside.

In addition to financial support, the delivery of the CCUs guarantees official recognition of the occupation of the areas by the settled families. As a result, producers now have more legal security and expanded access to public policies aimed at rural development.

According to the president of the settlement association, Gersi de Souza, the initiative represents a milestone for the community. “This day was historic for our settlement. Incra’s work, by bringing more credit and delivering the CCU, encourages our producers to produce more and more within Porto Luiz”, he stated.

Incra employee, Sara Sena, highlighted that the settlement has also shown growth in agricultural production. Currently, the area has eight coffee seedling nurseries and the expectation is that, in 2026 alone, more than 1 million seedlings will be planted. Local production also includes crops such as bananas and other crops adapted to the region, strengthening income generation and the economy of settled families.
