PVC windows are considered durable and easy to maintain, but even they may change color over time. It happens that yellow discoloration appears on them. However, instead of using strong chemicals, you can try a simple method used in many homes. This trick allows you to refresh the frames and restore their clean appearance.
We can often observe that window frames instead of being snow-white, they acquire unsightly yellow discolorations. This is because although PVC windows are considered durable and resistant to weather conditions, they are not completely chemically neutral.
Typically, discoloration on frames is the result of moisture and the development of microorganisms around the seals, long-term exposure to UV rays or deposition of airborne dust and soot. In addition, we often unknowingly cause such a situation by using aggressive detergents or scrubbing the surface too hard, which causes micro-damages.
They are quite troublesome because they create a porous structure in which dirt settles even faster. Fortunately, we can get rid of unsightly discolorations using a simple home remedy.

If you see that the frame is heavily and permanently dirty, prepare an appropriate home remedy that will remove the problem in a moment. For this purpose, we should make a paste based on baking soda, which has a whitening effect, but at the same time does not destroy the PVC structure.
To make it, we need warm, but not hot, water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. We pour it in powder into a bowl and gradually add warm water, mixing until we obtain a thick and creamy paste without lumps.
Apply it to the frames using a soft sponge or a brush with soft bristles. Remember to spread it very gently, without pressing it to the surface. Leave the paste for about 5 minutes and wipe it off with a damp microfiber cloth. Wipe everything dry, remembering not to scrub the surface at any stage so as not to dull it. It is worth repeating this process 3-4 times a year to keep the window frames fresh white.
