UFC 326: Charles do Bronx wins by unanimous decision and is the new lightweight champion

Charles ‘do Bronx’ Oliveira is, once again, champion of the main MMA entity in the world. At UFC 326, held this Saturday (7), in Las Vegas, the Brazilian overcame Max Holloway in the reunion between the two after a decade and defeated his American opponent by unanimous decision of the judges.

Just like the referees’ decision, Do Bronx was unanimous and dominated the five rounds of the confrontation. Sometimes standing up, sometimes taking the fight to the ground. From the Bronx he takes the lightweight belt and also the symbolic title of the BMF, which in a free translation means ‘the most thick-skinned’. His last time reaching the top of the UFC was in 2021, when he defeated Michael Chandler at UFC 262. Charles successfully defended the title in issues 262 and 274having lost the throne to Islam Makhachev in October 2022. In 2025, he competed for the title again, but fell to Ilia Topuria.

Another Brazilian who stepped into the Octagon for the main card was Caio Borralho. He faced Dutchman Reinier de Ridder at middleweight in the co-main event of the night. The Maranhão native also won by unanimous decision of the judges and took another step towards the category title. After the victory, he challenged Dricus du Plessis, aiming for a title fight.

The main card still had space for the meeting of two Brazilians. Gregory Rodrigues from Rondônia defeated Brunno ‘The Hulk’ Ferreira by knockout in the 1st round.

On the preliminary card, Rafael Tobias was defeated by Diyar Nurgozhay by unanimous decision, while Rodolfo Bellato beat Luke Fernandez by knockout in the 1st round in the fight that opened the night’s proceedings.
