Investigations showed that the professor exploited the financial need of socially vulnerable families
The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested this Tuesday (10) a university professor suspected of sexually abusing four minors, in addition to producing and storing videos and photographs of the abuse. THE lawyer and professor of Criminal Law was arrested at home, in the Grajaú neighborhoodin the north of Rio. His identity was not disclosed and, therefore, it was not possible to locate his defense.
As investigations showed that the professor exploited the financial need of socially vulnerable families helped by a legal assistance project of which he was part and used the trust relationship as a lawyer to entice children and adolescents.
During the investigations this Tuesday, agents found narcotic substances in the suspect’s house, which will be the subject of investigation. Police officers from the Child and Adolescent Victim Police Station (DCAV) served a temporary arrest warrant for rape of a vulnerable person and production and possession of child pornography.
According to the Rio Civil Police, the investigation began with the exchange of information with international organizationswhich highlighted the production and storage of child pornography images on electronic devices linked to men.
“Based on intense investigative work, data crossing and intelligence analysis, DCAV agents identified two victims, aged 10 and 14, both residents of a community in Rio, and there is also evidence of the existence of other victims”, informs the police.
“As a way of attracting and maintaining proximity to the victims, he offered small benefits, especially snacks and food, creating an environment of apparent informality and trust,” says the corporation.
