Brasília will receive BYD’s first Flash charger that charges in 9 minutes

Brazil will also receive the BYD Flash charger which has the capacity to charge a car, almost completely, in just nine minutes.

During an inauguration event for the first Denza dealership in Brasilia (DF), the brand took the opportunity to announce the arrival of the first ultra-fast charger developed by BYD.

With a power of 1,500 kW (or 1.5 megawatt) per connector, the charger allows the battery level go from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reaching 97% in nine minutes.

In Brazil, for now, no electric car is compatible with the technology.

The Z9 GT will be the first car to be sold in the national market with the technology Flash upload compatible. The model will reach the Brazilian market later this year.

The Denza store, in Brasília, will be the first in Brazil to have , which is scheduled to open in the first half of this year.

Recharge time:

  • 10% – 70% in 5 minutes;
  • 10% – 97% in 9 minutes;
  • 10% – 97% in 12 minutes.

How does it work?

To make it possible to use the technology in places where the electrical grid infrastructure is not sufficient, a system was developed with batteries coupled to the charger.

In this way, it is possible to store energy when the equipment is not in operation and deliver full recharge speed when connected to the vehicle, without the need to have 1,500 kW available on the power grid.

With this solution, it will be possible to spread the Flash chargers throughout the country, guarantees the brand.

O Flash charger It is T-shaped with pulleys and is the first in the world. The Zero-Gravity design allows you to easily lift the connector to any side of the vehicle, keeping cables clean and off the ground.
