The federal deputy also asks for compensation of R$10 million from the presenter and SBT
Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) filed a criminal case against presenter Ratinho from SBT. The case is against transphobia after he said on his program that the deputy “she’s not a woman, she’s trans”.
In addition to the request for criminal action, it also requests compensation of R$10 million to the presenter and SBT, which according to the deputy, will be aimed at women victims of violence.
In a post on social media about what happened, Erika Hilton confirmed that she was suing the presenter. “Yes, I’m suing the presenter Ratinho. What he committed was a violence, an attack, and it wasn’t just against me”wrote the deputy.
Ratinho commented on his SBT program on Wednesday night (11) about the decision to choose Hilton as president of the Committee for the Defense of Women’s Rights in the Chamber of Deputies. “I didn’t think it was very fair, with so many women, why did they give [a presidência] for a trans woman?” said the presenter.
“For a woman to be a woman, she has to have a uterus, she has to menstruate. I’m against it, I think a woman should be allowed to be the president of the Commission,” added Ratinho.
Finally, in her publication, the deputy wrote that the presenter and the broadcaster will have to answer for their actions. “Out here, in the real world, he and SBT will pay for their actions, in the civil and criminal sphere. And they will not pay me, but to all women victims of violence, trans and cis“, concluded the president of the commission.
Yes, I’m suing the presenter Ratinho.
I know that, due to the paltry ratings of your program, which as far as I know doesn’t please even your bosses at SBT, you have to resort to violence.
Because what the presenter committed was violence, an attack, and it wasn’t just against me.…
