The number of breast surgeries in the state grew 30% in 2025 compared to 2022.
Last year, 3,759 procedures were performed, compared to 2,881 in the previous period.
The data are from the SP Health Department and the government (Republicans) credits the increase to the creation of the Table Paulista, in 2023.
The government says that the program corrected the gap in the transfer of federal resources and increased the value of hospital and outpatient procedures.
In two years, R$9 billion was transferred to philanthropic hospitals and Santas Casas — responsible for 50% of SUS care in the state.
The provider at Santa Casa de Rio Claro, Danuso Diniz, says that the hospital has gained momentum and expanded its service.
“Our deficit in the federal SUS table reached R$20 million per year. With the new resource, we were able to invest in a new oncology unit and now we will create 10 new ICU beds,” he said.
According to the state Department of Health, the number of elective surgeries in the state rose 85.7% in the same period. Last year alone, 1.3 million surgeries were performed in the São Paulo SUS network.
