Gilberto Kassab is studying possible electoral scenarios; April 15th the name of the pre-candidate will be defined
The president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, stated that the party will define the day April 15th the name of the pre-candidate who will represent the party in the 2026 presidential race. The choice will be made between governors Ronaldo Caiado (Goiás), Eduardo Leite (Rio Grande do Sul) and Ratinho Júnior (Paraná). According to interlocutors, Kassab is studying possible electoral scenarios and would have already designed the future of each of the politicians.
Behind the scenes, the possibility of Ratinho Jr, governor of Paraná, will be chosen by Kassab. One of the reasons is his performance in electoral polls. Today, the governor of Paraná sent a note saying that he “waits calmly and with great respect to the other competitors, Ronaldo Caiado and Eduardo Leite, for the party to make the party’s presidential candidate official at the appropriate time.
With the vacancy practically defined, Kassab has plans drawn up for Caiado to run for the Federal Senate and wish to negotiate a future ministry to shelter Eduardo Leitewhere it would gain national visibility. The ministries mentioned would be Cities or Regional Development.
The expectation of the PSD national leadership is to make official, in April, the candidacy of the governor of Paraná, Ratinho Jr., for the dispute for Palácio do Planalto.
