Paris – Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is fighting in court against a sentence of five years in prison. The Paris appeal court has been reopening the case against him regarding alleged campaign funds from Libya since Monday afternoon. Sarkozy was found guilty in the first instance for membership in a criminal organization and was even sent to prison for a few weeks, although he appealed. The conservative had always denied the allegations.
